Sea to Summit Passage tableware is made from food-grade glass-reinforced polypropylene.
This is a harder material than the plastics used in some tableware, and this harder surface should be easier to clean.
However, certain acidic or pigmented foods such as tomato sauce, curry (turmeric), or coffee can stain almost any material. This is especially true when the products are used in a microwave, where heat can further enforce the stains.
If discoloration occurs, you can try the following method:
- Mix 2 tablespoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon water, and ¼ teaspoon dish soap to form a paste.
- Spread the paste over the stained area using the non-abrasive side of a sponge. (Avoid the rough side – it can cause micro-scratches that make future stains more likely.)
- Let the solution sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Wipe vigorously with the sponge, rinse well, and repeat if necessary.
While stains can be difficult to remove completely, this method should help minimize discoloration and keep your Passage tableware looking its best.
