Our TPU Accessory Cases and TPU Smartphone Cases have been tested to an IPX8 rating.
This means the products have been tested to be waterproof to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 10 meters, for up to 1 hour when properly closed.
An IPX8 rating does not guarantee that an electronic device stored in a Sea to Summit product will withstand that kind of pressure nor are these storage products designed for intentional submersion.
To ensure that your case is sealed correctly please follow the below instructions:
To seal the case properly:
- Place your items inside, ensuring they do not interfere with the closure area.
- Press the hook-and-loop strips together firmly across the full width of the opening.
- Fold the closure over once.
- Fold it over a second time (double fold).
- Secure the folded closure by pressing the hook-and-loop sections together firmly.
- Check that the folds are neat and even, with no gaps or twists in the closure.
Important: The waterproof seal relies on the closure being folded and secured correctly. An incomplete fold or poorly engaged hook-and-loop closure may allow water to enter the case.
